Glamourous 1950s Fitted Jacket

Stunning, unique jacket with a design that owes a lot to Schiaparelli (no designer label but it clearly has couture construction, the only label is from a fancy Fifties boutique in Houston). The buttons are obviously made from a jeweler. They are amazing and have the wit of the Surrealists. They are extra large rhinestones (or crystals) wrapped in a gold "rope". Very soft dark black wool (almost feels like a jersey knit). Luxurious red silk lining. Dramatic shoulder pads. The peplum is stiffened to keep a fabulous shape. Excellent vintage condition - MINT! Bust 36", Shoulder to shoulder 17", Length 24".
