1940s WWII N-3 Flight Parka
Vintage N-3 flight jacket. A rare jacket that is the first version of the nylon flight crew parka. Initially issued in 1945. You can just barely see the airforce logo on the shoulder. This version has a mouton fur lined hood which originally had a wolf fur trim with white guard hairs. The original owner told me he removed it because he was allergic to it. A small tuft remains on one edge. This early version has a small leather patch on the chest to provide a place to clip the oxygen mask for high altitude flights. Raglan sleeves. The original cuffs are moth bite free and clean. There are some stains as you can see in the photos. Also missing a couple of buttons from the chest. Purchased from the original owner who flew out of Alaska in WWII. Size XL, Chest approx 52" 29" armpit to armpit. Length 34"
