    1930's Abbreviated Skirt

In 1937 Women's fashion started showing quite a bit of skin in sportswear lines. Halter tops, Short shorts, and very abbreviated skirts were showing up on tennis courts, yachts and at picnics. This incredibly rare bright red wool skirt with side button placket has a faux shorts design with triple pleats in the middle, front, and back. I suppose it felt more safe knowing there might be some doubt in other's minds about whether they were shorts or not? An a-line silhouette just 18" from top to bottom. We think they are adorable. Never worn in pristine condition with a small fiber tag in the waist seam with a lot nº. No other label. Waist 25".
