1930s Lace Gown with Dramatic Coat
Outrageous 2 piece ensemble of lace and georgette bias cut gown with stunning long sleeve cover up with long train. This stunning pair was found among a large collection of French couture in an estate were the owner had been in France during the period. The gown has a lace covered bust with a large sheer panel of georgette through the middle of the dress with inset panels of lace in the skirt. The cover up has long sleeves with kimono style construction. The lace is exquisite with a design of flowing vines. The hem ends with a long train. Along the back there are large triangle 'wings' of lace. There are no fasteners in this piece the gown fastens with side snaps. Condition of the gown is poor with numerous little holes and a couple repairs. It has a shabby goth look and would need extensive mending to appear otherwise. Perhaps building a matching slip in black satin and then attaching the gown to it for support for the mends. As such it is not considered in the price. The outer 'coat' is on the otherhand in excellent condition and is quite wearable. Bust 34" Waist 24" Hips 34"
