1940s Hanes Suede Knit Orange T-Shirt

Incredibly rare 1940s Hanes Suede Knit pocket tee. Suede knit was Hanes first foray into sportswear and marketing a tee shirt as anything but underwear was unheard of at the time. Sold as the "cashmere of cottons" it came in a wonderful array of colors. This beautiful cantaloupe orange is a gem. Raglan sleeves. a smallish patch pocket. Thin soft cotton knit. Some random tiny pinholes and a charming darn on one sleeve only add to its character and evocation of late 40s optimism and devil may care ruggedness.
